Studio Updates: Peek at DOE2, New game published on consoles
We've got a quick look at our upcoming sequel to Depth of Extinction plus our latest publishing collaboration
HI all, I know it's been a long time but I've recently migrated my newsletter to SubStack and wanted to send out a few updates to you all!
DOE2 Sneak Peek!
First, I have a newsletter exclusive sneak peek into the development of the Depth of Extinction sequel! I haven’t announced the title yet so we’ll save that for another day but here’s a few screens to check out and some details on things in the next game:
I’ve added a new “Overworld” that can be freely explored and has encounters, secrets, quests and more stuff to do. Encounter system has been completely overhauled and there are many new possibilities there.
I’ve been experimenting with a new isometric perspective for the tactical battles! Also, new enemy factions and an ice biome will be in the new game.
Similar leveling system to DOE but now you get “Skill choices” at certain points allowing you to even further customize your characters.
There’s loads more to tell you about the new game but i’ll save that for a future update. I’m planning to get the Steam page up soon (will email you then!) but unsure on the release date for now. The current plan is to get a Steam/itch Demo up later this year and launch into Steam Early Access by early next year.
New Console Release!
I collaborated once again with Spicy Gyro and Shiny Dolphins (maker of Polyroll) on publishing their new game Panic Porcupine to Nintendo Switch, XBOX and PlayStation.
We also released a bundle for Switch called the Retro Rollers Bundle (includes Polyroll and Panic Porcupine) so if you haven’t picked up either game for your Switch then this is a good opportunity (it’s currently discounted!).
That’s it for this time!
